Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: October 1, 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Niu Therapy, PLLC, an Illinois professional therapy practice, regarding your use of this website (https://therapywithtsuki.com). In these Terms, "I," "me," and "my" refer to Tzu-Chi Liang (Tsuki Niu), LMFT, and Niu Therapy, PLLC. By using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the website. These Terms do not govern therapy services, which are provided under my Informed Consent for Therapy Services.
2. Therapy Services
If you become a therapy client, my therapy services are provided under my Informed Consent for Therapy Services, which you sign before we begin. It covers fees and payment, the cancellation and no-show policy, confidentiality and its limits, telehealth, court-related requests, emergencies, and ending therapy. My Notice of Privacy Practices explains how your health information is used and protected. These Terms apply only to this website. They do not change those documents, and if there is any conflict regarding therapy services, those documents control.
How I handle information collected through this website is described in my Privacy Policy and, for Washington residents, my Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
3. Consultation Calls
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see whether we might be a good fit. The consultation is a brief conversation about what you are looking for and how I work. It is not therapy, and it does not create a therapist–client relationship.
I will call the phone number you provided at the time we scheduled. During the call, I will confirm that you are located in a state where I am licensed. Please keep what you share general. Information you give me before and during the consultation is handled as described in my Privacy Policy and, for Washington residents, my Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
The law may require me to report certain information I learn, such as suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult, or a serious risk of harm to you or someone else. My reporting duties vary by state, and I will follow the laws of the state where you are located.
A consultation call is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, please see the resources in my Disclaimer.
If we decide to work together, therapy begins only after you sign my Informed Consent for Therapy Services, complete intake paperwork, and I confirm that you are located in a state where I am licensed.
4. Eligibility for Therapy
The information on this website is available to everyone. Therapy services are intended only for adults aged 18 or older who are physically located in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, or Massachusetts at the time of service, where I am licensed. Visiting this website, sending a message, or booking a consultation does not create a therapist–client relationship. Please see my Disclaimer.
5. Acceptable Use of the Website
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. Please do not submit false or misleading information, interfere with the website's functionality or security, or use the website to harass, threaten, or harm anyone. I may restrict your access to this website if these Terms are violated. This does not affect therapy services, which are governed by my Informed Consent.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including blog articles, text, graphics, logos, service names, and branding, belongs to Niu Therapy, PLLC or is used with permission. You may view this website and share links to it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, or use the content for commercial purposes without my prior written permission.
7. Disclaimer
The content on this website, including blog articles, is for general informational and educational purposes only and is not medical advice, mental health treatment, or a substitute for professional care. Please see my Disclaimer for details, including crisis resources.
This website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available." I do not guarantee specific outcomes or the completeness, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability of the website, and I am not responsible for interruptions caused by system outages or third-party platforms.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. This section applies only to the website. It does not limit my professional responsibilities to therapy clients or any rights you have under the law that cannot be waived.
9. Electronic Communications
If you contact me through this website, you agree that I may respond by email, phone, or text for scheduling and administrative purposes. Email and the website contact form are not fully secure, so please keep your messages general and do not include detailed health or other sensitive information. For text messaging terms, see Section 11 of my Privacy Policy and my Informed Consent. Documents you sign electronically through my client portal (SimplePractice), such as the Informed Consent, are valid as electronic signatures.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
This website may link to or embed content from third parties. I do not control and am not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, except where the law of the state where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to file a complaint with a licensing board, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a state Attorney General, or any other government agency.
13. If a Provision Is Unenforceable
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
